Is it normal that i hate fashion

I don't like fashion. I dress to disappear. I realize one can dress neatly without thinking about what he's gonna wear and how they will match 24/7. I hate the smell of shopping malls. The fragrance is so unnatural. Fashion magazines are the most boring thing ever. They are no better than textbooks. In fact sometimes i do enjoy reading a textbook. I used to make myself love fashion.I tried so hard to the point that I detest it. Fashion makes a girl a poser.Fashion is not natural.I do think a person is born to see,not to be seen. Now I'm not in style anymore, but my boyfriend said I looked better.

I'm not saying girls should dress rather sloppily. I dress clean and casual. And if it's a formal occasion,I wear a nice dress.Sometimes I paint my nails and do a little make-up to impress my boyfriend. And that's all there's to it.

I was so stupid trying to fit in.

Being a guy I never care about fashion. I only clean up for weddings and taking Angela to a really nice place/thing. I wear whatever I feel like, a sports shirt and basketball shorts. I sometimes dress so I can easily disappear into a crowd of people. But all in all I think fashion is pointless and dumb. To me it feels like you're trying to impress somebody. I don't normally do that. I impress them with my presonality

I've got a love/hate relationship with fashion. I've never slavishly followed it, anyway, but find it hard to get away from it even more. On the one hand I'm a sucker for novelty and good design. On the other hand, I can't stand the fashion industry: the shallowness, size zero, sweat shops and all that wastefulness.
IDK I'm really torn. It's so easy to get sucked back into it by the more or less subtle manipulation all around you. Anyway, the conclusion I've come to for now is that to look good, the best thing you can do is to look well after your body :)

I'm surrounded by (art) students who are extremely fashion conscious most of the time.

Hipsters populate every student nook and cranny - Plaid/check shirts, tight jeans, tight tops, purposely rolled up t-shirt sleeves, uncomfortable but 'stylish' shoes (DMs and Converse typically), Ray Bans or similar massive glasses, polaroid cameras, out of season scarves, tiny jackets, cardigans and wooly sweaters with cute animals on etc.

It only bothers me because it stinks of pretension and trying way too hard. That's the kind of fashion that irritates me. It's actually pretty boring.

Fashion doesn't make sense. Insecure girls go to the streets to see how other women dress.they miss out on a lot of good stuff. There's nothing to be seen? How about nature, how about people observing, how about reading a few good books, or just do some gardening? This piece is just my rant. But u said there's nothing to be seen...Ur so brainwashed by fashion...

those who are brain washed by fashion try to tell people fashion is a part of how good someone's life is. What a piece of crap. They see beautiful things and think of style, how this will match, how this is in style or not ,how this will fit urself or not, wow this color is so last year. Their sense of beauty is so twisted. And they have to dress in style to feel good. That because without all those clothes, they don't feel good about themselves.

okay just my rant... Perhaps I 'm not out of fashion long enough to be calm over this kind of shit. I will try to be cool.Damn.

I don't like fashion much either. I dress for function, not form. And I hate clothes that are dry clean or hand wash only. I'll make a few exceptions but I usually wear jeans or cords with a plain fitted tee. And I always have a sweater or hoodie with me. No logos. And I must be able to walk a mile comfortably. I hate shoes you can't walk in.

    • Yes, no logos! There's no way I'm going to be a walking advertisement for a corporation.
