Basicly what the title says. I don't make alot of eye contact. I usually look somewhere else when i'm talking to someone, but when i make the impression that its kinda associal, i just look at their nose, or their mouth or something like that.
I don't know why but eye contact feels very intimate to me.
In some cases, that is a symptom of Asperger's Syndrome.
However, it is also a symptom of nervousness in general (which isn't a psychiatric disorder). Usually, it takes me a little while to be able to hold eye contact with someone else for more than a few seconds and I am pretty certain that one need not hold eye contact throughout the entirety of a social encounter.
In fact, I am pretty certain that to hold eye contact with someone throughout the entirety of a social exchange often signifies attraction, when we are not talking about a professional setting... but even in a professional setting, you never know.
Yeah, most people I can't look straight in the eye, instead I look all over, I must look like such a twat.
I'm like this with everyone except for the girl I like. The only problem is, she never makes eye contact with me, which really upsets me seeing as I'm the only one..I'm not that ugly...right...?
While I understand that you may just be shy or uncomfortable, you should at least look at someone when you talk to them. (and at their face, not boobs, shoes, or crotch)
Some people consider it rude if you look away.
You should try do get to the point where you do it naturally without intentionally staring into their eyes. That way, you won't be uncomfortable and neither will they.
I guess it depends on who I'm talking to. I make brief eye contact and look around with some people and others I look right at 'em. Like a star gazer, baby.
