Is it normal that i hate crowds of people.

I can't stand the sight of crowds of people, the thought of crowds causes me to shudder and its horrible when I go to big events, despite the fact I like the events I just can't stand going to them. So Is there anything wrong with me or what.

yea same here. i just go quiet and try to go away as soon as possible. Like I feel really lonely and there really doesn't seem to be something logical to say. Even if im with friends I don't like talking cause I feel like other people might be listening and it's none of their business.

I have both friends and family who aren't too good with crowds. If you look at the way humans have evolved, we were always designed to live in small communities (most primate groups number forty or fewer). We certainly weren't meant to be in close proximity to 60,000 people, say, at a football match.

With that in mind, maybe a dislike of crowds is entirely human and natural and the people who don't mind crowds have merely learned to live with it.

  • I've noticed that the people I know who live in smaller communities hate crowds and city-people don't seem to mind them as much. I don't think it's abnormal to be bothered by large crowds of people.
