Is it normal that i hate being around my family?

I mean my family has done nothing to make me like this. No abuse or anything like that. I just absolutely hate being around my family and all I want to do is be around my friends. I'm only 15 so when I get my licences I will never be at home I have decided because I hate being around my family that much. And most of the time when I am home, I sit in my room listen to music and read, just try to get away from my family. Is it normal to hate being around my family?

    It's called being a teen. As you grow and mature those feelings will change into feelings of gratitude.

      Agreed. Once you get to college things will never be the same. This is the point where everyone goes on with their lives; you will see your old friends less often, and you will start to miss your family, considering you love them.

    I'm exactly the same, I've always been closer to my friends, there's people on here saying that "friends will betray you" which may turn out to be true but I've been with my best friends for almost 13 years and we are still closer than ever. I can be in the best mood ever but as soon as my family call me down for dinner idk I just change and idk why but don't think that your friends will betray you

    Yes, it's called being a teenager. You'll find as you get more mature, the way you feel about them will change. You'll respect them a lot more.

    Trust me, I know. I'm still a teenager myself (19) and there are still times when I hate being around my family, but things will change.

    teen always think their friends are more important, just watch how they will betray you and never be there for you and how your family will be there.

    Some families are bad, but I don't know your reason not to be with your family.
