Is it normal that i hate america and i am american?

Hey everybody. I am a Bi-racial American who hates the U.S. I hate the U.S. because after travelling to a good handful of foreign countries, where I have experienced great kindness and made lifelong friends, I have returned and realized that America is full of so many pretentious, close minded, bigots that I can't stand it hear anymore. Not all Americans are like this, but there are enough to make me sick. And before anyone says,"If you don't like it here then leave." I am way ahead of you. I can't wait to leave. It's my dream to live somewhere else. So I can be happier and I can leave America to rot in its racism, conservatism, obnoxious patriotism, and astronomical crime rate. And no I'm not a traitor or a terrorist, just exercising my first amendment right. p.s. other countries have free speech too.

Speaking...geographically, I love the US. You have mountains, deserts, plains, beaches, forests all in one country, all speaking the same language, using the same money, all the same culture. It's such a gorgeous country. But your politics and religious shit is all fucked up.

Yeah, the one thing I really hate about the USA is (incoming generalisation) the idea that they're the only country to have free speech. As if in Europe you get your head chopped off for speaking against the government or something.

That very opinion of yours ^ is what makes your country great. The right to freedom of Speech. Try doing that in some other countries and you probably be incarcerated.

Speaking from outside of the US, there is aspects of our countries regardless where we come from that we don't like. No country is perfect but there is one thing you Americans to be known for; being optimistic in even the most unfortunate situations. Sadly these days all I see from the typical American is pessimism about the future. Well HELLO USA we are in the same boat too but we need to make best of the situation and work together to solve these issues.

    Greetings from New Zealand.

I'm sure you're not the only person in America who feels that way. Makes me really glad I live in Australia.

America is a bit like K1W1 land, very beautiful except for the k1w1es.

Mmm, that somewhat explains why Australians aren't too fond of kiwis. They're like the annoying neighbor that keeps coming over and never goes back home.

Really, we love em. The thing with the sheep is a bit disgusting.

Don't leave: change it from the inside. Remember we are all a product of our environments... all those bigots and hateful people you talk about are simply ignorants that are the product of political, economical and cultural influences. But guess what: you are a product of America too! which means there is hope since there is already a minority of smarter people "made" in America. If you fight to change what makes a lot of Americans unbearably irrational adults, you will have contributed to making smarter generations.
I am European and I can tell you there is plenty of stupidity here too, which is just a way to say that I grew up in an unusually progressive environment for my generation. Being smarter than other people around you is a responsibility in taking an active role to make a better future for everyone.

    I can't fault it on it's logic.

Hallo, I'm from Holland and to be honest with you I have always wanted to go to America. Not to the toerrist parts but the real real america. What you live is what we watch on tv in Holland, you know what I mean. But there is one thing that I still don't get, I've seen videos of woman getting beat by men and people just walk by like its nothing.. (From America) I can't imagine that I would do or see something like that here not saying that Holland is perfect or America is bad but I'm just telling you what I saw. Almost like they're used to see stuff like that. Really fuckedup :(

I'm from India, live in Canada and think America is awesome. Firstly because of the amazing US Constitution and that it's a secular state (I'm atheist), then you have the right to bear arms (strongly believe in self-defense and killing enemies/criminals) and that generally the US fights for real freedom/democracy.

Yes there is corruption, yes the US makes mistakes, yes there's many fat/stupid/inbred Americans (name one perfect country), but I know a world without America would allow savage, tyrannical states like the Islamic world and the Communists to take over. So thank god (whoever she is) for America.

    What is a, "Bi-racial American"?

From which tribes are you descended from?

    Are you a Florentine citizen?

If you hate other people who hate other people, who hate 'race', then why do you keep spreading this Archaic terminology around?
Please use 'people' or 'tribe' instead.

Please do not use -ists or -isms, as these further contribute to the divisions in society, which you clearly loathe.

    Thank you.

As for the OP, when you leave could you take the Muslims and illegal Mexicans, the Democratic Party and far-right wing with you? Thanks

ahh the United mistakes of America hey. Well I'm Australian and I was brought up to look up to you lot so if you don't look up to yourselves then I'm not sure what hope there is in the world. Just kidding. Hey man as an Aussie I'm not particularly proud either, theres this bogan xenophobic sentiment arising in this country that I don't have alot of time for. But then I focus on what is good in the country and only if its a few things that are good in the face of many bad, the good shine alot brighter. Just accept your nationality and keep the good of it in your heart. From there, embrace the world and be a wordly person. You'll be better off for it.

Looking at the US from another country, I can see exactly what you're saying, problem is though, most countries have that element once you're there long enough to notice. But in fairness I certainly wouldn't want to live in America, so good luck with getting out!
