Is it normal that i had to agree?

My teenager son had a massive revelation today about young teenage females. He said that if he treats them like shit, they keep coming back for more, and really crave his attention.

I don't like to think that he is treating them this way.

Is this normal logic for young males?

  • You need to fix that ASAP.

  • I think what's more sad in all this is that females actually do go back to those guys who treat them like shit. Then they claim there are no nice guys out there and that all men are pigs. If I were a heartless asshole, I'd give it a try but I just can't do it. My loss?

  • You really do need to fix this. Please don't take offense to this, but I wonder what your family dynamic is like. Does your husband talk to you disrespectfully in front of your son, and he's grown to think this is acceptable? That isn't the ONLY way that a guy comes to think that's the way things are, but it is common.

    • OMG No! He's 16 and I don't think he would ever hurt a girl by being rude etc as he's too sensitive for that but he did say that one of his female friends had stopped texting, until he stopped texting her - then she started texting him again.

He's just learning about the contrariness of human nature - not copying his dad! Both he and his dad treat me with the greatest respect and do numerous chores.

      • Oh okay, good. Well teenage girls are very complicated lol as you know, and playing a little hard-to-get like that sometimes is a good way to gain their respect. That sounds pretty harmless to me.

Maybe what he means by, "treating them like shit" is not literally that he treats them like shit. Unless he really is verbally abusive towards them? But maybe he means that by him giving little to no attention, it keeps them coming back for more.

Either way, whether he means that he gives them no attention, or if he actually does treat them like shit, by rude comments, or harrassment or whatever, you still need to talk to him about this. Tell him that its wrong, and that sooner or later these girls will catch on, and he'll end up with no one.

When it comes time that he really does want a relationship he might not know how because of the way he acted before. Not only that, but a lot of girls might find out the way he was with other girls, and not bother with him.

What the hell is wrong with the girls? I thought they couldn't be criticised in school in case it affected their self esteem etc. So why do they think so little of themselves? If he makes it clear that he's not interested, why pursue him?

That's what this generation has come to, treating a girl like shit seems to work. And it's sickening to see it work too.

  • I know tons of these girls. They just love to be mistreated, they're excuse is always the same "But I love him". Smh. At the end of the day, they all end up being sluts.
