Is it normal that i graduated college but don't make much money?

I did well in high school and also in college, graduated, passed essential license exams..and still I have never made more than $15,000 in a year. I like myself, feel like I have friends and family that love me...it still seems a little abnormal...but I've never really been without a way to make ends meet or provide for my family responsibly.

I have a degree and I lived off less than that for nearly 10 years until I found a job that paid a living wage. Many of my friends were in the same boat. Sorry to be discouraging about the job market, but it really doesn't reflect much on who you are as a person. However taking a job that sacrifices your sense of being just to earn a few dollars will. Hang in there kid, you are not alone.

Of all the folks out there with degrees that are underemployed, you have to look pretty hard to find one with a science or engineering degree.

Just a heads up for you underage IIN users out there with your lives ahead of you.

You're definitely not alone. There are people who have Masters' Degrees who are working at McDonald's and Starbucks'. There is definitely something wrong with this logic here because these people should be making at least 5 times more then when they're getting paid working at these places.

It's really asinine. Many people like yourself have gone through school, done everything right and everything they're supposed to to succeed but yet many of them are working jobs suited for high school students.

I doubt we'll see any significant improvement in the economy any time soon. As of right now, I guess this is considered normal because most people are going through this. That doesn't mean it's logical or fair of course. Hang in there.

People with lots of degrees are the ones supposed to create jobs and companies, not apply for jobs. The economy is what it is because we are all waiting for other people to do it first. Sadly, the few who dare make the first step will do it in China...

These days, this is normal. I don't know where you live but most of the world is economically hurt, regardless of education. There are people with doctorate degrees who can't find a job these days.

It is the economy, and a little late for you since you've graduated but for others you can at least take a look through student services to see what the job prospects are for the degree programs you are considering.
