Is it normal that i go for 40 to 50 days without having a period?

I am not going through puberty. I'm in my early 20s and have had a period for about 8 years now. But I still go for 40 to 50 days each month before having my period. Sometimes I skip almost an entire month. Is this normal? Could it mean something's wrong with me?

It means you should go see a doctor straight away.

If that happens to me? I like it. Periods are an annoying curse!

Mt cycle used to be regular but now it has a mind of it's own. When I first had my period at 12 I stopped going for a year like my mum did when she was that age, then it came back much later at 15 which was prolonged by an ED but now it's 21, 40, 25 days and I now have cramps sometimes it's heavy sometimes it's light. Perhaps you are underweight or anemic and you should get this checked out because of the risk of infertility.

  • Sometimes I skip a month. (anxiety & stress) Last time it happened I had the worst cramps in my life I thought I was going to die. It only lasted the night (I fell asleep) and it just never came.

It sounds like you are skipping them. It happens. If this is a change in normal behaviour ask for medical advice. I knew someone who only had two periods in about five years because she was underweight and her body cleverly decided she didn't have enough body fat to have a kid, so why not save the eggs for when she did?
