Is it normal that i get urges to punch people?

So, I always get these urges to punch people. I just think it would be hilarious to carry on normally and then clobber someone out of the blue. Sometimes I worry that I might actually do it sometime. I don't really want to hurt anyone, I just want that hilarious awkward silence that happens after something very unusual or embarassing happens. I dont know?? I kind of picture it happening in frames like in a comic book, with "POW!!" in a pointy speech bubble..

If you try to do it, I recommend trying it only with someone who is physically stronger than you. Then the effect would be even more hilarious.:)

Throwing water in someones face will get the same result, but less violent.

  • I punched someone and it felt good, but there were conequences, which somewhat traumatized me. But this Old fart really deserved it, they provoked me to the breaking point.

I get this urge all the time. As long as you don't act on it, it's not that harmful

I bet you would only act it out w someone much smaller than yourself.

You would probably think about it twice if you got knocked out one time trying it.

I think about lots of other non violent things too, you know. Infact, i think of MOSTLY nonviolent things, this is an acception...stop humoring my question with such an obvious answer. cartoons, come on now. you speak like you know everything, and are perfect. and that sucks.

  • How would you feel about it if you ended up in jail? Not so hilarious, huh.

Comics are not realistic about violence and the same goes for movies and television shows.

So you're saying I should cancel the order for all those anvils, rockets and roller skates?

      • No, I'm saying that I don't think violence is very funny. I know some do, but I don't.

And I'm suggesting that maybe you do think it's funny because you said so and you appear to portray very little empathy for the person on the receiving end of violence.

I also wonder if media has put such a positive spin on violence that more people are beginning to think that it is a laughing matter. That saddens me.

Geez, lighten up. I was making a reference to roadrunner cartoons. It must be tough walking around with the weight of the world on your shoulders.

By the way roadrunner cartoons are from the 1960's. There was violence back then too. There was violence before that even, believe it or not.

As for you putting words in my mouth about thinking it's funny, I said no such thing, I am not the poll creator.

Maybe you should try to understand how this website works before you go around with your morally superior attitude.

You must be lots of fun at parties. Frankly, I'd rather hang around with the OP and risk getting punched than listen to your sanctimonious bullshit.

          • Wow, so much hostility. O.o

            To each their own.
Sorry I confused you with the OP.

Hostility? No. Maybe I refuse to be down-talked to by overly sensitive people that try to impose their standards on everybody else.

Try to get a sense of humor....and go flip over your John Tesh record, I think I hear it skipping!!!
