Is it normal that i get uncomfortable hearing the "n" word?

personally its stupid i find it truly stupid why can a people call me cracker whitey, bully me for being white push me around because I'm white and its not racist?? but if i say anything back I'm suddenly the racist white bitch why cant they be racist why do i have to think of everything nice and try my hardest not to be racist or say something to put someone down and hispanic, and african americans can just put me down all the time and it not be racist and god forbid i get offended then im racist one

A few years ago,

I said "nigger" right to a black strangers face, he was trying to (I assume) rape a young girl. I was the only one in the park and it was getting dark, she runs up and says "help me, there's these guys". I look over and see four black men walking towards us. She stands behind me and I tell them to leave, one of them says "we just need to talk" and I put my hand up under my shirt (bluffing a knife)and said "get the fuck out of here nigger". He looks at me funny, then at my hand, then shakes his head and says "you're fucking lucky" and they walk off. I turn around and the girl is seriously shaking all over, she says thanks and goes to sit at the near bus stop. I sit back down on the bench I was on and think "omg I nearly died".

Yes, it's a double-standard.

Historically black people use that word because it ties them to a common ancestral time. Historically white people used that word for a certain class of humans to degrade them. It's okay for them to use it toward each other they shouldn't need to justify it. White people should never use it, because it was used in the past by those who believed themselves to be superior oppressors.

Personally i don't think it should be used full stop.

And I agree with that. But for people of color to use these negative slang terms towards each other, it seems like they are only perpetuating the racism. If you don't want to get treated in a way that is degrading, you shouldn't degrade your own kind especially in front of us Caucasians. It makes at least me very uncomfortable.
