I tend to avoid social situations. The part that makes me nervous and unwilling to talk is that I don't know what to say, there's a 90% chance I'm not going to enjoy the conversation anyway, and I sooo badly want to play computer games, with someone I know I get along with, instead since that is my form of fun and not engaging in an unnerving situation. Someone I know (I cannot consider him a friend he's just around all the time, like an annoying fly that refuses to be swatted and insists on buzzing around your head) constantly wants to have a party, get drunk and argue with everyone, I think of him as a very primitive creature with no desire to enjoy life.

I get uncomfortable in most situations. You probably have a social anxiety and find yourself going out of your comfort zone. It's normal.

Somehow I keep forgetting that high schoolers have access to the internet.

Yes. Yes it's normal. That is all that needs to be said.

Completely normal. Its actually way to normal. I used to be like this and then one day i simply decided I didn't want to be like that anymore. What you need to realize is nobody cares how you look, how you say things, what your demeanor is, because everybody is to worried about themselves . And you need to accept that nobody gives a fuck and in turn you won't give a fuck:)

Social Anxiety is common and nothing to be afraid of (*badum tss*), though if it seriously impacts your life you may want to see a therapist or psychiatrist.

A large majority of first-time encounters start off with two people awkwardly standing there. Actually, it makes you pretty normal.

Normal. Especially if you in a situation that is outside of your comfort zone.

Yep, do the same thing even if it is just one person I don't know in my group of friends sometimes, it just kinda feels awkward to me.
