Is it normal that i get this attached?

I have been realizing lately that I get really "clingy" with people and most recently a stray cat. My first girlfriend's younger sister and I have been talking for roughly 3 months now legitally everyday but the bad part about it is she is 15....I'm 21(I know this is ridiculous) There's little things that she does that gets me mad like reading my text and not responding for 20 mins and then reply. I admit I have little experience dealing with chicks but I never had to deal with something like this and oddly enough we both got attached to each other. Just yesterday a stray cat showed up at my door soaked,so I got a towel for her dried her up and brung her inside, she fell asleep for 3 hours on my bed and I felt bad that I had to let her go later in the night since my dad is allergic to cats and I'm unemployed so I can't get shots for her. When I let her go yesterday I felt pretty bad about it. I haven't talked to anyone about this and I need the utmost honesty from complete strangers.

  • I know how you feel. I've gotten, and still do get, clingy with many a things. What's really hard is when you know these obsessions and feelings you're having are crazy but you can't help feeling them. Sometimes you have to take a step back and realize this isn't healthy for me I need to stop. With this girl I recommend you do the following:

    1) Don't sit there checking your phone/email every hour to see if she replied to you.
    2) When you do get a message from her don't reply right away. Focus on something else, anything else, for an hour then reply to her.

Whatever you cling onto, you don't have to. You can stop it. When you get angry or upset remove yourself from the situation or thought.

Do you think you're holding onto these things because they feel good and you don't want those feelings to end? Maybe you're trying to compensate for something else. Are you happy? If you can figure out the reason you're halfway there.
