Is it normal that i get sooooo nervous around new people?

well i am 18 male and very very insecure with myself. i have never had a gf or had sex and when i meet new people especially girls i end up looking really stupid. like i say stupid things and blush sometimes. i am so awkward to be around as a person. when i am slightly drunk im ok though but when i am sober i am really really inconfident and shy.

i have no idea how to change it.

    dw about it man, i used to be the exact same, but you need to learn that the main reason that you are awkward is because you know you are going to be, just know that you are gonna be a fucking legend. it takes a while and you may need to go through a bigger experience or something like that, but if you just BELIEVE MORE POSITIVE (cheesy but true), things will definately get a lot better, and always beleive it from deep down, no one is better than you

    I am also the same way. I used to think it was because i'm just shy and there is nothing more to it than that, but i recently realized there isn't such a thing as a shy person, but one with no confidence. So, now i'm working to improve my confidence level by pin pointing my good qualities and making them better. it also helps to let go and not obsess over being embarrassed...i mean, look at little kids, they don't care about things that don't matter at all. good luck :)

    I know exactly how you feel. Whenever I meet new people I just try to be as polite as possible. I'm very socially awkward and no matter how polite I act it usually shows.
