Is it normal that i get really pissed off by incorrect grammar?

Every time I see or hear someone using incorrect grammar or spelling I just get really pissed off and I feel like I'm going to explode!

The most common uses of incorrect grammar and spelling are "your" instead of "you're" or "you are" and "is" instead of "are".

For example, a person will write "OMG your so cute", or say "There is no more chips", and that just makes me so angry and I start to feel like bashing something!

Then what annoys me more is when I confront the person about it and bring their incorrect grammar to their attention, and they just say "Oh, but so many people say it like that now and use "your" instead of "you're" so it's fine. You have to get used to it!".

I realise that occasionally I will make silly grammatical errors, but I will usually notice that I've made a mistake and then correct myself. These people however just seem to do it all the time and don't even care that they're doing it!!

So is this normal? ..or am I just crazy? ._.

I tend to think that incorrect use of your / you're is just a typo as I've made that myself once or twice.

    However, I despise would've / could've / should've being written as would OF / could OF / should OF!!!!

I understand it sounds like this, but WTF??

    I totally understand.

What's sad is that many of these people really have no idea how much their spelling will count when they try to get jobs.

They act like it won't matter. Then again they've never held HR positions so take heart... you'll be getting a job faster than they will be. Perhaps you'll even take the jobs they want simply because you'll be able to write a resume that doesn't sound as if a 16 year old scribbled something down and pretended it was good.

My favorite is when people spell the word "psycho" as "pyscho" or "pscyho."

I hate when I see people on the internet correcting other peoples grammar like anyone gives a shit. If you understand whats being said there shouldn't be a problem this isn't a formal environment.

My boyfriend is so bad with grammar I honestly consider dumping him sometimes because it's so frustrating!
I know that sounds stupid but it's just so irritating.

Grammatical errors don't bother that much as long as the message is clear. However, spelling is a different story.
