Is it normal that i get nostalgic when actors/artists make it big?

The full question couldn't fit in the title, so this is what I'm really asking:
Is it normal to feel nostalgic when artists, actors, etc. that I've been watching from the start of their career (when they weren't well known) become famous?
There's just something about seeing people that i really liked on youtube, IFC, etc. that end up becoming maybe not huge stars, but somewhat famous that makes me feel nostalgic. I think It's maybe because I feel happy for them and I think "Wow I knew them from the start" and so maybe I'm confusing it with a sort of nostalgia because nostalgia doesn't seem like the right emotion to be having...

    I don't feel a sense of nostalgia exactly, but more a sense of a parent letting a kid go. Feeling sort of proud that I knew them first.
