Is it normal that i get angry when people talk about hitler?

I am sick to death of people saying "He wasn't that bad" or "he was so clever.
Grow up, he killed 6 million people because of their religious beliefs,
he pretty much wiped out an entire country and he wanted a pure German race...even though he wasn't German, wow genius.
I honestly don't think it would bother me so much if people actually knew what they were talking about instead of quickly reading off wiki-bloody-pedia.
Fair enough to respect him, he was fascinating and an incredible leader to his own people but it pisses me off to see people worshipping him. You have no idea how offensive this bullshit is.
This is 2011, not the 40's and if you still believe in what he did maybe you should take a leaf from him book, take the cowards way out and put a bullet through your brain.

    No offence but your facts are all wrong. Hitler killed 9 million people including gypsies... And if you are refering to the Jews he wanted them exterminated because of their race and other reasons, not solely religion. I think wikki might be better informed than this lol sorry. I have just studied this for four years in uni so I can't help myself correcting it :P

      He killed 6 million Jews, I didn't mention anyone else.
      Also I didn't say it was soley religion but it was a main factor.

    Austria was stolen from Germany in WW1 and most Austrians referred to themselves as Germans.
    I think it’s normal that you get angry when they say Hitler wasn’t that bad, but if they just want to discuss nazism then it’s not normal to be angry.

    This reminds me of English class last semester. Our teacher said there is no good or bad unless you're Hitler (being the latter of course.) and my friend kept saying all these things he didn't do; such as drink, smoke, and liked animals. And this girl said "oh, the man who didn't drink killed my family, congratu-fucking-lations." I don't support what he did, but he did deserve some respect; he did help at one point

    Hitler was a genius. an evil genius. but yes it is normal to get mad but I just want to know how mad do you get like is it just yelling or is it throughing stuff at the teacher cussing like that upset... cause I know someone like that.

    Well, Hitler WAS clever. If he had not been a great public speaker and if his propaganda had not been amazing, do you think anyone would have thought that he was doing the best thing for Germany? What he did was wrong, but he played his part really cleverly.

    I don't idolise him in any way, but he fascinates me from a psychological standpoint. What also interests me is how no-one ever uses the word "extremist" about him, in the same way the west often does about Islamic leaders. If Hitler wasn't an extremist, I don't know who is.

    I'm one of those people who you are ranting about. I don't think Hitler was perfect, i think he was nuts and got alot wrong. But my personal pet peeve is ignorant people simply writing off people in history simply because they have been painted negatively. Any way you spin it he did commit genocide. And personally i think that distriminating solely based on something people can't help like race or sexulaity is pointless and stupid. However from a stricly objective biological standpoint the policy of eugenics is simply an artifically accelerated natural selection.
    Hitler single-handly erradicated unemployment, fixed the economy and returned Germany to the world stage.

    So before you blow up at people for being ignorant then perhaps you should thing about your own view and prejudices. Learn to consider all facts objectively.

      100% I agree with you (apart from the last part obviously lol)
      As I said he was an amazing leader, he gave Germany hope after WW1 destroyed them. He took them from poverty and naturally they would adore him for it, and they would follow him, what a perfect way to get followers would you not agree?
      And, like you, I am complaining about people who don't get all their facts right but what annoys me the most is they tell us how great he was and then spill out incorrect information.
      Yes the policy of eugenics is one thing but Nazi eugenics is a whole different ballgame- they completely twisted Galton's idea. I'm going to be honest eugenics isn't my strong point hence I hate commenting on it lol so I'm going to shut up about that.
      I feel like you're more on my wavelength- you know what he did was wrong but you can respect who he was and not praise him and tell the world how great he was with false information

    I think it is normal for certain topics to trigger anger. In particular, I think it is normal for the topic of Hitler to spawn rage.
