Is it normal that i forget to eat?

Im female, 21, 5'3", weigh 104lbs, and have been the same size since 8th grade. I'm not ashamed of my body, but actually am very proud (although I'd love to put some 'meat on my bones'). My eating habits are very strange: I'm either never hungry, or STARVING. More often than not, I don't eat at all... Because I just plain forget to eat... My stomach doesn't 'remind' me. Its like I dont feel hungry until my stomach screams "I need to eat now or I might pass out" Sometimes I remind myself that, although I don't feel hungry, I should probably eat. Is this normal?

  • My ex was like this and was hypoglycemic. Try scheduling regular meals and eat them regardless of how you feel.

    It's normal, but since you said you get to the point where you may pass out, I'd say to get that checked out. I sometimes forget to eat (usually lunch) but eventually I do get hungry. But like @bugsforbreakfast said, try scheduling meals.

    Forgetting to eat because of simply forgetting is one thing, but if your body doesn't tell you that you're hungry then you probably should get checked out.

I also have hypoglycemia but i'm not sure if that necessarily has to do with it... the feeling of suddenly going to pass out, maybe. but if you're not doing much of anything it seems normal that you wouldn't be reminded by your body to eat... at least that's how i am... and when i am hungry it is more felt in my brain and entire body rather than stomach, a feeling like i'm "shutting down" - need to refuel, heh.. but if i'm just sitting/resting, there is no feeling like that, and I can go whole days without eating or just eating candy/mints or something (obviously not recommended, but i figure why waste food if you aren't using the energy)
