Is it normal that i flee the are of a cough or sneeze,

I know that to point it is actually a good habit but I cannot help it because my mother ingrained it into me. From a very young age, when someone sneezes or coughs around me that I pull my shirt over my mouth and nose and quickly sprint away holding my breath for dear life... i quite actually feel so flighty that sorta shriek a little under my breath as I scamper away. Am I being too extreme here? seriously!?

Aw crap, I accidentally voted yes because the last question you posed is contradictory to your initial inquiry. No, I do not think it's normal for you to behave like that. Yes, I think you're being too extreme. Lol :P

I just hold my breath. I hate it when someone is sitting behind or next to me and they have this hacking cough and they just kind of cover it with their hand. Or I am in class and the person does not even bother to get up to go to the bathroom and cough there. Sure, half the time I don't get oxygen and I'm purple, but at least I haven't gotten sick.

Just walk away so that way your no where near that person, and saves you the hassel of covering your mouth, holding your breathe .. Etc
