Is it normal that i find the saying "you need help" hilarious?

I don't get why, I just do. Someone posts some random stuff about whatever, and out of nowhere, there's a comment saying "You need help" And I just burst into laughter. When I say help, I mean psychiatric help. I dont think that the idea of the person needing to see one is funny, it's just the sentence itself. It causes funny imaginations in my mind. Is this normal?

  • "I want to rape and murder those three people over there."

    "Wow, you need help."

"Nah, I can handle three people. You can tag along if you like."

Sorry, that scenario just popped in my head. Lol.

Why stop at three? There are 7 billion other people on Earth! Have higher aspirations!

  • I get that a lot and I find the comment somewhat annoying.

As someone who has been in the psychiatric services I have found it is not only unhelpful most the time, but causes more problems than it fixes.

Most the time when someone goes in for "help" they end up in a crappy state ran psych facility for services where they fuck up your apointments and have no fucking clue what they are doing. The staff often consists of voulenteers from local community colleges trying to get credits without having any understanding of what the patients are dealing with, and if you go in for anything out of the norm, they will be quick to dismiss the case because it's not "what they deal with".

In my case, it's a few nurses with no sense of the term "bedside manner" who assume that you're court ordered to be in there or are a 72 hour lockup case. They give you heavy drugs to treat a mental disorder that you were never fully evaluated for and are probably not suffering from and become enraged when you are unable to perform your assigned tasks due to the side effects of said medication.

They then generally proceed to treat you like an animal, thus worsening your depression and weakening your resolve to exist.

Did you write this post just to see who would say "you need help" first?

Of course not. I just feel like I'm the only one that finds it funny.

I'm with you OP, for some reason that statement always makes me smile.

Once or twice, I can see why you'd find it amusing.

    But every time?

I would have thought after a while those 'funny imaginations in your mind' would stop being so "hilarious".

barely hear it. That's the only reason why i find it funny all the time, because its rare that i hear anyone say that. Otherwise I would have gotten bored of it.
