Is it normal that i find sex to be over-rated?

I'm a 21-yr-old female virgin and the concept of sex doesn't appeal to me in anyway. I think it's overrated to be honest. People always want to lose their virginity and think that sex is "glorious" but I just don't see what's so good about it. I think it's gross actually (it doesn't matter to me if it's natural). It's probably because I'm asexual so I couldn't obtain any pleasure from it anyway. I don't masturbate either.

Sex is WAY too glorified in society. Kids young as 10 are losing their virginity just so they'd be "cool" and like a "grown-up". No one should have a boyfriend/girlfriend and lose their virginity until they're atleast 18 and perferably in college.

Not wanting to have sex is totally fine. As long as no one is telling others what they should and should not do with their bodies, I'm happy.

You may be an asexual. I am one, in a matter of fact. I have actually had sex though, and believe me, i understand how you feel. It really isn't all it's cracked up to be.

How can you possibly find something you have never experienced to be over rated? That is a ridiculous statement, based on nothing more than conjecture.

Yes, many virgins claim sex is over rated and not as good as masturbation. You feel better if you tell yourself your not missing out on anything.

I just can't wrap my head around people like you. That soul rending connection you get when you look into the eyes of someone you love while you are making love to them. It's unparalleled by anything. That torrent of tickling fire that comes out of your chest that has nothing to do with sex but IS there because of the physical connection but would be there anyway. I can't explain it. It's like trying to explain the color orange to a blind man.

Sex is so glorified in society because it successfully sells everything from beer to cosmetics. Strip away the advertising, the celebrity & music and all of that, what you are left with' is people and how they behave during sex play and that itself is a Zoo that is far more interesting. At least to some...
