Is it normal that i find porn disgusting?

OK so many many many people watch porn and it's considered normal to watch porn. Ok. So I'm a guy in my early 20s and I used to watch porn a lot, but now all of sudden for a couple of years now I've stopped watching porn. I started finding porn disgusting and a massive turn off. I find the girls that I used to think were hot, disgusting and ugly because they look fake, wear tons of makeup, and are just overall sluts and whores. I find the guys incredibly ugly. It's just disgusting, in one word. Nothing about porn turns me on anymore. Maybe I've outgrown it, like I've outgrown many other things. But no one will believe me when I say I don't watch porn and that I find it disgusting. Does anyone else feel like this?

I find porn filmed especially for women to be superior stuff. It shows women with an emotional connection to their partner -- it's more joyful.

In about 6 months to a year when you finally want to jerk off, try watching women that want tactile love and tender empathy. It's steamy as fuck.

I find a lot of 'professional' porn with the type of girls you mentioned a turn-off.

You know, the ones where girls with a ton of make-up, french nails, shitty fake orgasms, and bad acting skills get pounded by scary looking men who constantly suck their teeth and say things like "Yeah bitch you like getting your ass stretched by a big cock don't you!"

What does it for me is amateur porn, where you can tell both the man and woman are really into it and, in all likelihood, nobody is 'pretending'. They're just being dirty together and sharing their exploits with the world.

I think, like Grey Wulfen said, maybe you're watching the 'wrong' type of porn for you.

I think you have a very healthy attitude!

    • Supressing sexuality out of religious brainwashing is the exact opposite of healthy.

You don't have to suppress your sexuality by not watching porn, you can't still masturbate or have sex.

        • I know but rose thinks masturbation and porn are evil when there the exact opposite. You cant masturbate without porn when you watched it for years.

I don't think that porn is evil or anything like that, but it seems a little healthier to be able to masturbate without it. However, it's everyones personal choice anyway.

I agree - it's one thing to watch porn whenever you masturbate, but something quite different if you literally cannot masturbate without porn.

Yes, there comes a point in time when you put your priorities in place. For me, I just didn't have time, nor do I think I am missing anything.
Now is someone sends me a picture of a gal with very large boobs, I enjoy it. It's not porn, it's just a beautiful body the way I look at it.

Ok, so, as a student of psychology, let's specify that all sex starts in the brain. Humans are visual beings. Read a sexy article or passage in a book and you imagine yourself in that scenario. See a stripper, and you imagine your body doing things to hers. What parents fail to teach their kids is that you can NEVER un-see things you have seen. Adults also fail to educate teens that when you finally come to truly care for someone, you learn respect. When you respect the woman you learn to care for, you begin to see that seeking pornography is a form of infidelity. When you learn to respect women (as a whole) through your care for even one woman, you realize that it is the height of lack of faithfulness to view any woman as a sexual object and it is extremely selfish to use any image to satisfy your lust...even if the "woman" you're looking at (magazine, strip club, whore, cocktail waitress) exhibits her body willingly. Think about your sister and your mother in a position where men ogle and use them for their lust. Now pretend you have a daughter. Do you want men to think of or treat your daughter or granddaughter that way? Sex isn't wrong. Pornography isn't wrong...if used appropriately...I want my man to look at a nude pic of me and be turned on. However, random, indiscriminate use of pornography as a selfish gratification of temporary lust belittles the manhood or womanhood of the user. People who can be truly intimate and trustworthy with another's vulnerability choose to reject commercial pornography. Abstinence is a sign of maturity.

Well it's not just pro porn, amateur porn doesn't do much for me either. And no it's not like I'm "tired of the mainstream stuff" and I wanna go watch extreme porn like puke or scat or bestial or whatever. No I mean really all hardcore porn is a no-no for me now. It's been years and porn doesn't turn me on anymore. I don't masturbate either but I do have sex occasionally.

What is the "right type of porn"?

Based on the fact that you don't masturbate and only have occasional sex, it doesn't sound like you have a particularly high sex-drive, in which case I'm not surprised porn doesn't do it for you.

I only watch porn when I want to masturbate (although I masturbate without it too). If I didn't have the urge to masturbate, I wouldn't watch porn, and might find it a little gross as you do.
