Is it normal that i felt nothing when my grandmother died?

A few years ago my grandmother died. She was a big part of my family she took care of me and my brother when our parents were working and she visited a lot when we were little. And I remember when we found out that she had died, I felt nothing. I had to pretend to feel like I was sad. What's wrong with me?

Classic shock. When I lost my sibling I felt numb for quite a while. Every once in a while something would cause me to grieve, but then I'd be back in shock, and feel nothing. Eventually shock wears off, it may take several months, but do know that grief tends to feel like it's getting worse before it gets better. I'm sorry to hear about your grandmother, she sounds like a wonderful woman.

You could be in the denial stage of the grieving process.

We felt bad because we had been fucking her for years.

    Nah. She hated you anyway.

Yeah, my grandmother recently died and I had no real emotional response; I had to force myself to cry. My mother picked up on my indifference, however, and was hurt.
People die all the time. It's not that big of a deal.

Sometimes it just takes time. You might just have been in shock or something about it. I remember being disconnected when my aunt died a few years ago...

Just try to remember the good times you spent together, and be appreciative of the sacrifices she made for you and your brother.

i don't know why most people are insisting that you really do care... it's pretty clear that you just don't give a shit

That happened to me too- my grandma had passed away a few months after my grandad and it didn't seem to have hit me as much as my grandad. I was fine up until the cremation where I suddenly burst into tears. It just hits you like that. :/
