Is it normal that i feel very uncomfortable around my dad ?details

Dont get me wrong, i am comfortable around my dad. Question is when.
I feel very uncomfortable when we get some family friends.
But only if my dad is around me. If i am with family friends alone i am comfortable and very talkative + good joker.
In my opinion most important information :
my father is very shy, and uncomfortable around people, friends and even around me.
So he also makes ME feel uncomfortable when he is around.
I know his true personality but something is stoping him to truly express himself.

So, is it normal that i feel that way when he is around ?

    Im like this with my mother sometimes, since I don't have a father around anymore.
    I'd suggest more time together. Try going to the movies, or take a walk or something, maybe he'll open up more. i think you just need more time with him, I've started spending more time around my mother and were getting along better than before.

    I know what you mean and I have observed that with a couple. The lady would talk when we're alone but if my boyfriend and her boyfriend are here she says nothing. We don't meet often now and I'm glad because it was getting weird.
