Is it normal:that i feel uncomfortable around white people?

Did the white people you used to live next to do something to make you feel uncomfortable or was it your own insecurities that made you feel awkward?

You know, actually come to think of it, if I was the single white person in a class surrounded by people that ACTED a lot different than me, I would feel weird. And not meaning to sound racist, but whenever I would witness a group of black youngsters banded together, they did tend to act way differently than I did... so I never felt comfortable to include myself into their social gatherings... I just wouldn't fit in... so id say its pretty normal.

I think you are simply a product of your environment. That's normal.

Racism is something I never understood.

I'm a white guy living in what some have declared the most racially diverse as well as sexually diverse place in the world.

Whenever I hear from people out of town about racism I am always amazed these things still go on. It's actually really stupid when you think about it.

I feel perfectly comfortable around black people or any other race. I have friends from all race groups and I enjoy hearing about peoples different cultures and eating food from around the world.

I don't understand why there are so many closed minded places in the world.

Personally I would love to live in a world where there were more civilized species besides humans like it is on star wars and other sci-fi/fantasy worlds.

honestly i feel opposite i feel uncomfortable around black people im white i dont know why exactly its mostly there body language i feel as though they all think and act very aggressively dont get me wrong i have a few black friends but the rest make me uneasy so i keep my head down around them i mostly intreact with them at work and unless i know them i usually avoid them unless they talk to me first i work in a retail store im talking about customers im friends with my black co-workers but like i said the ones i dont know intimidate me i dont know what it is or why im not racist or anything i guess im afraid

Honors student thinking; I'll be much safer in "a black area any day", with the gangs, drug sellers and poverty all around you, than a white middle class neighborhood. Yeah, I guess that's why so many black families struggle so hard to move OUT of those black areas.

Completely normal, and it's exactly how PoS black parents raise their children. They instill a hate for the white man, anything that happens to you is because of the white man, white man will treat you less because you are black, you will always be judged by the color of your skin, and their dated victim complex is passed onto you.

I'm of European descent and I feel quite similarly. I don't particularly dislike other races (hardly any more than I do other Whites, I mean), but living in close proximity with them just feels.....wrong.

I read your IIN question and felt compelled to respond only because I can relate in more ways than one. I feel extremely uncomfortable around white people. I'm a normally very talkative person, happy go lucky and pretty cool, but around white people, I feel judged, small, self-conscious, isolated and different --> all at the same time. They speak to each other normally but my every word feels predetermined, thought out and external to myself. As if I'm talking to a wall and not to people: a wall of judgement where anything I say will be used against me. It's like two people are talking at the same time, vying against one another: me & censored me (yet there's nothing to be censored, but I feel that way). A lot of people would call it the residual affects of oppression, especially as my role isn't that of a leader (yet). So I feel as if I'm walking around on thin ice...where they constantly seek to prove the futility of any work I do. I would likely talk, rather openly, like the white girl that comes in sometimes does in her obnoxiously loud way, but I partake in none of their conversations, and those that others try to include me in, I get flashes of a Tom (usually only included in their conversations for the kicks or for some trivial buffer or the other). My response is usually slight as a result. I'm not racist of course, but I definitely feel more comfortable around pretty much any race aside from white people, due to this. Even sitting next to them makes me uncomfortable. It seems like they're every motive in life is to belittle others in some way. Like they get off on it. It's the entire American white culture. I know, not every white person is that way, but it feels like 90% of them are and I know based on current events,, that we're living in very racist times, whether people want to admit it or not. Yes, its post 60s, but there's still a lot to be done so Black/Brown/Orange people don't have to always feel this way everywhere we go in America.
