Is it normal that i feel stupid for liking somebody?

I like being single and doing my own thing, but whenever I really like someone I feel stupid for liking them and try to convince myself that I don't care. Right now I like a guy that is a few years older than me and he likes me too, but I just feel really unsure. I don't know if anything will happen between us but I feel like an idiot for hoping. Plus he is one of my sister's boyfriend's friends and I feel she will not be happy with it.

    As far as I am concerned, there is no such thing as being stupid for liking someone.

    I have known women that have liked men that have 5 kids they don't pay child support for. That's not stupid, you can't help how you feel. However, I would say it was VERY stupid that they went ahead and had a kid with him... and were surprised that he didn't stick around.

    How you feel isn't stupid, how you handle your feelings is. If this guy is a decent guy (or you think he is and have no decent reason to believe he isn't) then go with what you feel. Protect yourself, don't be taken in by sweet words such as "I'll pull out" XD or him trying to justify stupid shit like having sex with a 13 year old while he is 23... but allow yourself to indulge in your feelings.

    Just go with what you feel. Instead of pushing this person away, and trying to tell yourself you don't care... for once just face what you're feeling. And if you have to; talk with your sister about it. Let her know you have feelings for the guy, and you would like to see where it could go if she would be nice enough to let you. But really, your sister probably shouldn't really have much of a say in this. Unless she's looking out for you for some reason or another.

    This is a guy that you like.. its your heart, your feelings, your life. As long as he's not some guy thats gonna bring you down, your sister shouldn't really have a problem with this.

    Don't go for it. Just stick to being single. You don't wanna get involved in dating. Other people just complicate one's life.
