Is it normal that i feel sorry for bad people?

Most bad people have had some pretty bad things happen to them like childhood abuse, trauma, etc.
I think every human comes to the world as a pure being but life fucks them up to the point where they fuck other peoples lives up.
I feel bad for the rapist, murderers and psychopaths of our society. Don't get me wrong, i don't approve things such as rape or murder (i hate the crime but i don't hate the criminal)
i just think people should be more aware of why bad people do bad things before judging them.

Yeah, sort of. I don't think that everyone who suffers trauma ends up doing bad things or that all people who do bad things have suffered trauma. To be honest, I am just so sick and tired of people taking what doesn't belong to them! The idea of someone benefiting from another person's loss or misery infuriates me. Argh!

But no, I don't think I agree with that born "pure" thing. Well, I kind of do, but I think some people will end up doing bad things, even if they were treated well. I mean, looking at it from the whole nature vs. nurture thing, it sounds like you're not taking nature into consideration at all. When I really think about it, I have a hard time genuinely blaming someone, because of my stupid beliefs. Ugh, how annoying! I wish I could genuinely believe in free will.D: Waaah, my head is all groggy now. Yeah, I do think we should be more aware of why people act that way, but it still annoys me very much that they do the things they do! Blah, I honestly don't know! Not right now, anyway.:P

Oh, and I know this is nothing compared to other crimes, but I've been thinking about trolling a lot recently. It makes me curious why they do it. I'm thinking these people are so starved of attention, so they act the way they do just so someone notices them. Not entirely relevant, I know. Just making the point that I do believe that there are causes for this sort of behaviour. Which seems like an obvious point to make, but I do agree with you that maybe these causes are dismissed sometimes. Maybe not, though. My mind is all garbled right now!

This is so true, there have been countless people who were raised quite well but turned into monsters. People go "oh he was abused and that's why" but that's bullshit. Ted Bundy was given love and attention, grew up in a comfortable middle class home, had good schooling, friends, girlfriends, ect, ect. And one day he chose to ignore it all and BOOM.

You don't know what other things could have happened to him without us knowing it.
and even if he did not have a trauma he could not help being born evil.

        • Lots of them had terrible childhoods, but Bundy and Dahmer had it easy. Dahmer even stated that it was 100% his choice and that "I was abused" is just a cop-out. Fantasy is at the heart of their type of crime, everyone has dark fantasies but they say "no". These two simply gave in, Bundy described it as "a jumping off point" that took time to overcome, this indicates that he was not born evil. Someone evil wouldn't have doubts. He, like Dahmer, had to fight his conscience at first, meaning they warped themselves into evil, nobody did it for them.

Westley allan dodd is the best example, a horrible serial child killer. When asked about being abused he laughed and said "I grew up in a rich family, and was treated very well". This was confirmed by those who knew him. So then they ask why in the world he would want to kill and he just replied "because I like killing kids".

The OP is right, there are many with normal childhoods who just "click" one day and become monsters. Abuse is often the cause, but there are still many times it's not.

if everyone came into this world a "pure" being then nobody would ever of had the chance to fuck up another person.

I would say people come into this world like a blank person. they're not moral or immoral in fact babies don't really seem to have any morality at all.
