Is it normal that i feel sharp pains in my heart when i breathe in?

Probobly about 5 too 8 times a month. I will feel a rondom sharp pain in the same area as my heart (might not be my heart. It cud be anything in that area.). It feels as if somthing very sharp is trying to pass through. And the pain doubles in intensity, when I breathe in. My family says there is a chance that it cud be a blood clott.

I worked with a girl, who had the same thing. She said that she got so fed up with it one day, that she breathed in as fast and as hard as she cud. And she said she felt somthing pop. And she felt more pain than she had ever felt.

Does anybody else have this?
Does anybody know what it is? Or what it is called?

"And the pain doubles in intensity, when I breathe in" Its probably just gastric problems, it happens to alot of people too, doesnt mean you have heart problems. But you shold see a doctor asap.

I had the same thing my doctor said that it's the muscle in bettween your ribs and when your lung expands it stretchs out that muscle, you should try putting heat on it stretching than putting an ice pack on it this will help the muscle to stop hurting.

It's called Precordial Catch Syndrome, happens to most people at least once, it's benign and it doesn't come from your heart.

Google the name to find more about it. :)

You should go to your family physician. Sounds to me like it's probably amusculoskeletal problem rather than a heart problem though. Since your diaphragm is a muscle and of course connected to other muscles that can affect it. If you are short of breath when it happens, go to the er.
