Is it normal that i feel sad after laughing a bunch?

Recently, I've been hanging out with friends online and even some in person, and I've been having a great time doing it. Just the other day, I laughed for what felt like hours. However, afterwards, I felt pretty burnt out and sad. It's not the first time it's happened to me, either. I've sort of rationalized that it might be because I've run out of "endorphins," but I'm not a biological expert by any means. Does this sort of thing happen to other people?

What you describe reminds me of how some people feel incredibly sad after an orgasm, and the longer, better and more intense the sex leading up to the orgasm was, the lower they fall.

I'm no expert on endocrinology, but I suspect your theory about endorphins is partially right. Not so much that you run out of the happy-hormones, but rather that coming down from a long, natural high is a bummer.

I sometimes feel this way as well. I will be laughing and having a great time, and then a sudden wave of sadness overcomes me, but I can usually move past it pretty quickly. On the other hand, if I've had a big, eventful, and wonderful weekend, I'm always a bit down or moody after it ends, and I need plenty of alone time to kind of "recharge".

I remember I went to this convention for this thing I'm involved in, and when I got home I had to call someone to debrief, and help me unwind.
