Is it normal that i feel nothing for characters in any shows or games?

For some reason, I've felt absolutely nothing for any character in any video game or any show or movie. I've done a genocide run in Undertale without feeling any remorse. I've seen The Walking Dead, both in game and in show, and felt nothing for any characters that have been put through bad situations or death. I'm not quite sure if this is normal, if I'm a sociopath, or if I'm just weird.

This question can only be answered in context of your feelings for people you interact with IRL. If you have empathy for IRL people but not fictional characters chances are you just lack much capacity to get lost in a story. Theres a term called suspension of disbelief, which basically means people are willing to pretend that what they are watching is real even if it's obviously fictional. being able to maintain the audience suspension of disbelief is considered a benchmark of good story telling.

Maybe you're just a seriously minded person and don't allow yourself to get fooled by acting. It would be interesting to see how easy it is for you to spot when someone is faking or lying about something.

How could you possibly have feelings for some character in a game? "Oh my dear, I get all mushy when I play Mario Brothers." Uh really?
As for TV or movies, if you don't feel anything for those characters, then it's the actor who has failed to do their job well.

Well Mario isn't really a story-driven game like Undertale is, most of it is jump-around while Undertale's story is affected by how you play the game (who you choose to kill, etc.)
