Is it normal that i feel like the media is too intense?

I literally can't even watch tv or play video games anymore. I know it's not a big deal but I just feel like we are trained to feel this way all the time and when I watch this garbage I get anxious and stressed out just from simple activities. I dont wanna watch someone get murdered or raped as entertainment. I know the solution and I know its normal and I have stopped watchinh but I was just curious how many other people also want to get off their couch and experience life!!

I agree. We need to restrict how much 'idiot programming' a person can watch. The media needs to provide much more beneficial, educational and informative programming.
If a person decides not to learn something, that's real and important, then that's their choice (to remain ignorant).
Then they will need to face reality, not the so-called reality programming that isn't.

I don't really watch tv much. In fact very rarely. Or play video games. When something's in the news I get the info from other people and look it up if I want to know more. I find newspapers depressing as its normally bad news, of crap about celebrities I don't care about. So I vote normal

  • The levels of hell....

Floor 5: Subway muggers, aggressive panhandlers, and book critics.

Floor 6: Right wing extremists, serial killers, lawyers who appear on television.

Floor 7: The media. Sorry, that floor is all filled up.

Floor 8: Escaped war criminals, TV evangelists, and the NRA.

    Lowest level: Everybody off.

If I see another 2 hour long session of Jodi Arias, as if the talks of creampies on TV is important on a news station, I will learn how to force Trololol onto the airwaves. Come on now, I know there is more going on in the world than that one dumb case. I personally don't like the "reality shows" because it is filled with reasons to argue and act all tough on TV. That means you, Bad Girls Club. Live the life of a celebrity? Better hope you never did anything remotely negative because the media will bring it to light and have it on eternal repeat. You will get close to the job of your dreams but your boss will open a tabloid and he/she'll say, "Well I was going to hire you but it says here that you had sexual relations with that woman" and you'll be done.

I love video games though. It may be part of the media but it isn't forced on anyone unlike the channels of TV and if you don't like violence, there are plenty of racing, music and sports related games to choose from.

I don't really watch tv as much as I used to. I guess it just doesn't appeal to me all that much anymore. Plus, I'm usually working anyway. And video games, I played a lot of when I was younger. I liked that Grand Theft Auto; Vice City one, but stopped playing it, because I used to dream I was in the game. I can see what you mean about the media being really intense.
