Is it normal that i feel like i don't get...

Is it normal that I don't feel like I get enough attention on here? It seem like every time I submit a post or leave a comment on someone else post I never really get that much feed back. My comments and post for the most part have good in dept topics and issue. I don't troll either maybe it's because I not an "Is it normal" Gold Member I don't know. I don't mean to sound like such a complainer, but I was just wonder if this was normal? And does anyone else experience this too?

    • It might be LOL!!! I don't want to gain negative attention though. I just want to know my comments are actually being acknowledged, and read people opinion on what I stated.

When I leave comments I dont expect any attention from them. I leave comments in hopes to help the OP. Maybe you shouldnt seek attention so much, worry about helping others more.

    • I don't leave comments to gain attention in the form of popularity as you seem to being inferring in your comment. I'm not a toddler throwing a tantrum or outburst to gain the attention of an unacknowledging parent. It's more like I'm a coworker trying to gain attention from his or her peer to gain feedback. I always leave comments in regards of trying to help, or else I would not give them any attention at all. With a mentality like that why even be on this site? Guess you like working without getting paid too!

Lashing out at the one trying to help you isn't going to help, man. I saw nothing rude about his comment because it was you that left the impression that you're seeking attention.

Well nobody promised you a paycheck at this job. It's volunteer work. You give and you don't expect back.

Lots of people are here because they want to comment and express their opinions - you just have to give them something they can comment about. Think about the sort of questions you would be most likely to respond to, and ask your own questions in the same way. If your posts are too in-depth or too specific, the questions might not be open enough to attract a wide range of commenters. Interesting is good, but the more detail you add the more careful you have to be that you're making yourself clear. Sometimes less is more. You're more likely to get replies if you make questions clear and questions leave open.

Do you often reply to other people's comments? If you reply to someone every now and then, they'll know it's okay to reply to you on other posts.

If you're comfortable, it might be helpful to link us to one or two of the posts you felt didn't get the attention they deserve. As it is, we can only give you general pointers.

    • I definitely submit comments and posts in the same fashion you just demonstrated. Even though your comment is a little bit lengthy I considered and did/do everything you mentioned. I don't over emphasize and lose the point I was trying to make, but I don't simplify my post to the point where there will be misconception. And I don't want to link my other post either I like my privacy, and I don't want to be generalize by people. After seeing New Post with so many comments I just start getting a little concerned to why mines weren't getting the same attention. And by the number of how many people said Yes this is normal I would say I am not the only one who experiences this as well.

Cool. In that case, I don't know what to say. You're either unlucky, expecting too much or doing something wrong.

One final thing I always appreciate is enthusiasm. I can get interested in almost anything - even something really boring, like antiques - if the person talking about it shows their enthusiasm and doesn't seem embarrassed about it.

It would just be based on what you say, if it isn't interesting or funny it's unlikely to get much attention from users.
