Is it normal that i feel like i don't belong there?

After three years of living in a different country, I recently came back to the place I've grown up and spent most of my life in. And it doesn't feel like home at all. I don't feel the same way I used to when I lived here. I feel like I'm a foreigner in my home country. The whole town looks and feels very outlandish. I have no desire to live here anymore. Is this normal?

Definitely. I lived abroad for 2 years and when I came back, I wanted nothing more than to leave my home country again despite family and stuff. Once you discover what other places are like your own home seems nothing in comparison

  • I grew up in St. Croix, in the U.S. Virgin Islands. After I spent a year in Iowa in high school, I went back and...yeah. I couldn't live there for the life of me.

    ...as stupid as that sounds...

Yes. After living in Australia for a year, I returned home and it was so different.
