Is it normal that i feel i have to hide this relationship?

I am 20 years old in a matter of months. I go out alot with my sister, her boyfriend, and his friends. We all get along great. I really like one of the guys and he likes me too. We think that the rest of the group would not approve of the 6 year age gap. My sister has warned some of them before about coming on to me which I think is ridiculous, but she just thinks they are bad news. But this guy that I like is really sweet and my sister keeps saying that if she were single she would go out with him. Its so awkward, especially as she does not know I am texting him. I feel ridiculous for hiding this as we are all adults but its made out to be a big deal, when really its not.

      I agree with this answer. But be prepared in case your sister reacts negatively (she very well may, since it sounds like she might have a crush on this guy herself).

    You should tell your sister that you are texting this guy. The age gap makes little difference. My boyfriend is eight years older than I and sometimes I feel that I am the older of the two.

      She will be mad though. Even though she is in a relationship. I think its sort of a sister jealousy thing.

    UPDATE: she knows and she is not exactly thrilled. She also asked why I didn't tell her i liked him. But thats obvious.
