Is it normal that i feel horrible unless i exercise daily?

I'm female and If i do not do at least a full hour long yoga and abs workout daily, I feel depressed, stressed out, agitated and just overall unsettled. Sometimes it even happens if I feel like i haven't tried hard enough when i have worked out.
Is it normal to feel like this?

Well yes. If your body is use to that, stopping the activity is a shock to the system. I know my body likes movement. If I don't ride into work, I have to at least walk a few miles or i get stiff and twitchy.

I do as well, if I don't go for my jog/climb I don't slep that day, its as simple as that, I spend the rest of the night depressed and pissed off that I can't sleep which in itself makes sleep harder, but I also find that it affects me physically as well if I don't go out for it I feel restless all day

Weeell...dunno about normal, but, unhealthy yes (aha! mentally speaking, i mean).

Firstly exercise releases stuff which makes people happy! Thus it's a stress relief, lacking could increase stress therefore but imo...

"I feel depressed, stressed out, agitated and just overall unsettled. Sometimes it even happens if I feel like i haven't tried hard enough when i have worked out." Thats obsessive behaviour. Ever heard of OCD? I doubt you have it, but i think the concept is very applicable here and that's my point.

I'm to presume you exercise to prevent you feeling unsettled later? Because if that's the main reason behind it, i'd consider it a compulsion, something you do repeatedly (daily, in your case) to get that unsettled feeling to go away.

The not feeling like you've worked hard enough? Again, that may fall under compulsions, repeating the thing more is often done in these cases but people who do have 'obesessions'.

Of course, i can't offer anymore information than that. But if it makes you less strssed, i'd consider it a compulsion, i have no idea what drives you in depth to act that way so i couldn't give a more in depth input.

  • I can very much relate to this. Exercise pumps endorphins.

I'm kind of the opposite, doing exercise is mostly not fun for me but I do it anyway to sustain my form.
I want to try out for a semi-professional football team, and it's a distant dream to get in to the Olympics one day. I've already won non-professional awards but I want to step up my game a bit.

I feel better when I do yoga and pray everyday, but I'm lazy.

I'm the same way except mine is driven by the fear of getting fat again. I wind up feeling like complete crap and I lose sleep over it.
