Is it normal that i feel greatly empty inside due to (reason below)

First off, the title was not big enough for the question so anyway..
Is it normal for me to feel greatly empty because my dreams are close to impossible to ever be realized?
My dream is to meet other sentient races besides Humans, specifically something Reptilian or something similar, but since we are so far alone in this universe, the only way for that to happen is for them to come to me. The thought of this dream not being able to be accomplished is killing me inside, and I feel so empty occasionally. Even if this isn't specifically normal, I need some closure on this to realize if my dreams aren't some wild imagination that only a toddler would dream of.

You can met extraterrestrials on the Astral Plane. Read up on Astral Projection and how to do it.

I can understand that kind of dream. It disappoints me that I'll never see time travel or teleportation or aliens. It doesn't make me feel empty.. but that's because I'm kind of lame and don't have any serious dreams.

i think you're glorifying this all and that most likely if you met reptilians they would torture you.

It's perfectly normal to dream of something different. I've had dreams and thoughts of various things that just robs me of the will to live, since they're just too good, enticing or fascinating to be true. The thing you mustn't forget is that you've been given one life (I'm an atheist, so I'm not making that bigger) and you have to do what you can to explore that life on that life's terms. If you want to climb mountains, then gear up and get going! If you want to be someone, start working! Few things will sort themselves out, so you need to work to make your life what you want it to look like.
Even though this life might seem dull and boring when you play Skyrim, World of Warcraft or watch stunning movies about adventure and such, you should never forget that you've got that one life on this planet for yourself which is completely yours to explore.
Life is what you make it.

    Like the Argonians?

lol Anyways this reminds me of the an anime named Gurren Lagann.

The main character, Kamina, always dreamed about going up to the surface. They lived underground and were told that there was nothing up above them so they could not go. Kamina didn't believe that though so he stuck by his dream and eventually got up to the surface. Once he got to the surface, he wanted to go ever farther; to the stars, to the moon. They fought like hell when they got to the surface to retake the land above the underground and of course they did succeed because they believed in themselves. They never gave up on their dreams and neither should you.

In one of the episodes from Gurren Lagann Kamina said this, and this quote really changed my life.

"Do you know why we have eyes in the front? So that we can see the landscape in the distance. If we had eyes in the back, all that we'd see is our hometown getting farther and farther away, and you can't move forward like that. With eyes in the front, what you see in the distance keeps getting closer and that's what allows us to move forward".

Like you, we all have dreams. Many people believe my dreams are impossible as well. I feel that I am decently intelligent, and people come to me with their problems often. I want to help the world around me with whatever problems they may face. People tell me this is impossible and no one will ever come to me for assistance, but I tell them all the time that they are wrong and I will continue to believe until I succeed. You should do the same. If this is really something that you want you should build upon this dream; never let anyone tell you otherwise.

Kick out logic and do the impossible, that's how I roll.

As incredibly unlike that is to ever happen to mankind, that is like... the coolest dream ever. I want to meet lizard people too!
