Is it normal that i feel awkward when sex is on tv?

I am very open about sex and always have been since I was brought up this way. So sex doesn't bother me.
But when I see sex on tv I just feel so awkward. I don't mind at all if it is a quick few seconds scene and they are covered up.
I was watching the new tv show "Girls" since I heard it was good and the sex is quite graphic! I have watched porn a few times and it just felt I was watching porn on the tv. I mean there is a guy masturbating, which you can clearly see, and cumming onto a girls chest. The sex scenes are quite long and they're that graphic it is extremely hard to believe it's not real.
I just sit there and think, is there REALLY any need for this scene? Or at least not as graphic? Am I normal for feeling this way?

    Yes it's strange i can watch porn no worries but watching people have sex in a tv show is so fucking wierd.

    Wouldn't want my Mother in the room when I am watching this stuff. Turn the TV off and have some fun with a partner of the opposite sex if possible.
