Is it normal that i fancy a foreign boy i've never met?

So a while ago I started talking to a pair of German boys. Immediately I preferred the younger one, he was better looking and nicer.. I knew I fancied him but it was literally just a 'yeah he's cool'
We sort of stopped talking for a couple months but around two weeks ago we started talking again on snapchat.
I love seeing his face every day and I have really started to like him.... But, he's German, I will never see him in real life, he probably isn't aware there can be internet relationships, and doesn't have a clue how I feel.
I don't know If he has a girlfriend in real life or anything, but I don't think he does..
Is this normal to happen? And what should I do? I'm not pretty (I'm not dis formed or anything but you know what I mean... I don't wear makeup or anything etc. ) and I'm sure he doesn't like me, so I'm really stuck on where to go next.
