Is it normal that i fall asleep faster with the lights on?

If I can't fall asleep, I turn the lights on, and then I'm unconscious within minutes.
Apparently everyone else always suggests that if you can't fall asleep you should have a darker room. I'm the opposite of that.

Could be a biological thing. You might just feel safer in the light; from an evolutionary perspective it might have been advantageous in protecting you from prey that hunt during the day and having a sense of threat in the darkness.

Its probably out of habit hence you're not used to falling asleep with the lights off. My dad is like that, drives my mum insanee

    Normal.

I can't sleep without the tv on. I actually put headphones with music in my ear when I'm on holiday, because I can't sleep in the silence.

Everybody has its own sleeping habits.:D
