Is it normal that i excessively hate ice skating?

We are forced to go ice skating in school in Sweden. I hate it. I'm afraid of other people ice skating into me, I stay near the edge, and I just don't want to ice skate or learn to ice skate at all.

I'm honestly just afraid of falling. Nobody seems to understand me, though. I haven't seen a single person ever my age who doesn't like ice skating. They maneuver their ice skates carelessly on the ice. They don't need to take it slowly after not ice skating for a year, as soon as they touch the ice they are ready to go.

    Sounds pretty normal to me. That's strange how they force you to do it.

    OMG I'm in the exact same boat!
    I could never understand how the other kids always skated better than me - I just CAN'T and I absolutely HATED it!
    Plus I'm in the north of Sweden too 😤
    However, I both adore and hate figure skaters. Like I really envy them and the sport, but it means so much anxiety to me now lol.
    I JUST CAN'T BALANCE ON THOSE THINGS! :(
    Funny thing though, I'm a dancer.
    Yup. I started ballet when I was like 5 or something. So that's still pretty weird that I never seemed to be able to learn how to freaking SKATE 😩

    You live in a country close to the North Pole. You must skate or you will be unpatriotic. At least you don't live in Canada where failing to play ice hockey is considered to be unpatriotic.

    We are all different so I would try not ro worry about it. But it must be hard when you come from a place where almost everyone ice skates and you don't skate much, or even like it when you do. I've tryed it a couple of times, was average at it and didn't like it much either. The worst thing was when someone skating backwards crashed into me and knocked me flying, that hurts and sucks!
