I have something very similar actually. This reminds me of a post I saw on this site about IIn that I enjoy mouth pain. I actually have this thing where I enjoy pain (in small amounts) in my mouth, on the inside of my fingers and hands and occassionally on my ankles. It is STRANGE b/c Ive never heared any one else talk about it (except 1 person). Its like it doesnt really feel like pain. Like, if Im flossing my teeth and I go across a tender spot on my gums it feels....GREAT. It actually doesnt hurt like it does for most people. Not to mention (and this is REALLY weird) lip pain. I will sometimes jam a finger nail into it because it feels good for some reason. Not hard enough too damage but hard enough to feel what I like to feel. I can not use mouth wash b/c the burn feels too good to me and of course I will try to get more of that feeling by messing with my mouth. I cant stick a needle through my lip/gums/fingers or hands and it feel good, but if I do what I said (like midly jam a nail agaisnt them) it doesnt hurt but feels good. If I were to try to describe what it feels like to someone who doesnt feel it themselves, it would be like trying to describing red to a blind person. I actually told my mother about it 1 time and she doesnt get it at all. I know if I have dry skin on my finger b/c of it people ask what that is on my finger sometimes and Im thinking "how can know 1 else feel that". But what you have is normal (although not usual). As long as it doesnt become an addiction. The bad side to it is Im thinking it may keep you from working out b/c if you know you enjoy the pain that much it could become an addiction? Best of luck to you
Muscle pain is great because you sometimes have this low-level bone ache, and working your muscles eliminates that chronic pain and gives you this relaxing soreness in your muscles. It does feel wonderful, releasing endorphins and making you feel healthy. I tried pot and didn't like that high, but the high relaxation from exercise - that is wonderful.
