My scalp gets pretty itchy and dry, and it's really hard not to scratch it...I don't know if this is weird or not, but when I scratch my head, my dandruff comes off under my fingernails, and then I put it in my mouth and eat it. It doesn't really taste like much, but I can't help but do it. Am I normal??
No, there is actually a name for that. Google it. It's a type of OCD I believe.
I think it's normal. I know a lot of people who do it. And if you Google it, it seems to be a legitimate concern for many people. Obviously i'm not condoning this as a good habit. But it doesn't seem all that 'sick' to me.
You may want to try some kind of aversion therapy or just reduce the dandruff.
I do this sometimes. I just happen to do it, it's not like I crave dandruff. It's not normal though, use a shampoo that helps relieve dandruff and it should lessen, at least for me it has.
