Is it normal that i drink less than a liter of water per day?

I know it's bad for you and your liver, but I used to be a big hermit when I was young, so I think my body developed a smaller need for water. I now have to force myself to drink water, as I am rarely thirsty, except for occasions when I do sports or something. I feel fine, not dizzy or anything, and even though water is supposed to wash out all of the bacteria out, I am the healthiest person in my family and in my class. (knocks on wood)

It doesn't wash out bacteria, it washes out toxins, poisons!
You can't see it immediately, but sooner or later your kidneys and possibly your liver will fail and then you will have to have dialysis.
It is really wonderful; they bring a couple of major blood vessels outside your body permanently (from the arm pit, I believe), and twice a week hook you up to a machine that washes your blood.
Wouldn't it be easier to just drink the recommended amount of water daily?

Since you have been doing this for several years, a kidney stone is much more likely than kidney failure. They are so painful, you will be extremely sorry you drank so little fluids.

Well, the recommended daily intake of water is about 1.9 litres (Googled it - stats from mayoclinic), but I shouldn't worry. If you drink too much you can actually die from water intoxication, there was a woman who did this for a competition hosted on a radio channel, the competition was called "Hold your wee for a Wii". She died because she drank about 7 litres straight.
As gypsy said - it doesn't wash anything out. That is all your immune and digestive system.

Yes, toxins and poisons, whoops! I meant those, I just couldn't remember the correct words :)

I know what dialysis is and in the fear of that, I force myself to actively drink at least a half a liter of water per day - that means drinking water by itself when I'm not thirsty. I also get some water from some foods I eat, for example I've been eating a lot of cytruses lately, but I know that is not enough.

And also by "actively" I mean only water, no sugar drinks or fizzy drinks and when I'm not thirsty. Combining that with the water from fruit and the water when I'm thirsty, that's about a liter and a half, maybe?

      I'm slowly upgrading :)

So THAT explains the hump. I thought I was gonna be a hunchback like in some Disney movie.

I find it really hard to drink enough water per day because I usually forget and then by around 6pm I realise I've only drank about 1/4 of a litre of water all day

When you say water, do you mean plain water, or all sources of water? Plain water might be healthier than many options, but it's a myth that soda, coffee, juice, beer etc "don't count". They're still mostly water.

Sure they count, if you want a thousand extra, useless calories a day. duh.

8 cups a day is bullshit. Everyone is different. Drink when you are thirsty, your body will let you know.
