Is it normal that i drink instant coffee bought 4 years ago?

The label of the can suggest the content expired in 2009. There's about a third of the 475g powder left. It has a sour taste to it.
Related are some 3 years old cookies (a bit dry) and cooking oil (perfectly fine as far as I can tell).

In general, is it normal to keep eating ancient foodstuff because want not to waste/don't care?

P.S. I rarely drink coffee and I can't tell instant and brewed coffees apart.

I think it's better not t eat or drink things that taste sour. It's a sign they are turning bad. And if u don want t waste food or drinks, u should consume them before expiry date.
