Is it normal that i drink /eat some foods without warming them up?

First off, I live in Florida and we experience warm weather (average high of 80 or better) for 7 months of the year. It becomes VERY WARM AND HUMID during the middle of summer from June through August and the temperature at night is usually still in the 70s so it never really cools off. Since the weather stays so warm for much of the year, I like to eat chicken noodle soup without heating it and make hot chocolate with cold milk during this time of the year. However, if it is cool outside (temp falls below 60) , I will heat up my hot chocolate and chicken noodle soup. Is this strange? Does anybody else do that?

OK couple things: it's ok if the chicken soup came straight out of the can, because today's canning methods kill all the bacteria, and there's no need to heat them up. If it were homemade soup, or even canned that you had in the refrigerator, bacteria still grows, and it should be boiled before eating. You're risking food poisoning if you don't. As for milk, as long as it was kept below 38 deg F, it's ok to just mix with chocolate and drink.

    Why should it be weird?
I don't like eating hot food when it's warm and otherwise. It's plain normal!

Well it depends really, I personally wouldn't eat food under these circumstances, especially meats. I did a Food & Hygiene course and ever since then I've been obsessed with the food being cooked at 80°C from the inside out, to make sure all the bacteria is dead, but thats just me. :)

Well I mean soup from a can like already cooked. But, yes, it probably would be less bacteria if it was heated. :)

No, today's canning methods wipe out all bacteria, so eating it cold would be ok. Not like years ago when you had to boil it. Check the Campbell's website: http://www.campbellsoupcompany.com/Faq.aspx

I do the same thing. I literally open a can of chicken noodle soup and eat it from the can, cold. And cold hot chocolate, is just chocolate milk :b haha. I also will take leftovers out of the fridge and eat them cold all the time. I live in Ohio, not very hot here ever, except sometimes in the summer, but I eat cold food all year around

    P.S. cold pizza is amazing.

honestly sometimes I'm too impatient to microwave pizza or chicken. Why wait? just have at it.

Finest breakfast is last night's unfinished takeaway curry. Cold.
