Is it normal that i dream about people that i've not met?

I usually have loads of dreams because i only sleep in the day. And i will dream about really random stuff, sometimes its a conversation, sometimes its riding a bike, sometimes i'm like making out with someone. But all these people i dream about, i don't recognize them. They're not anybody i know.

Does this happen to other people? If so, why and how?

I've met lots of very interesting people in my dreams. It's so very weird to think that in actual fact, they come from me. They are a product of my own mind!

And they can be so developed and such a separate character from my own. I wish that some of them were real and that I knew them in real life. They would be very cool people :P

it's actually proven that every person seen in your dreams has been seen by you in real life, but you probably won't recognize the face because you have seen so many people in real life. i'm not sure how accurate this fact is, but i heard it somewhere. regardless, i have dreams all the time where i'm hanging out with my friends and i think they are my friends but upon waking up realize that even though in the dream i thought i knew them, they were complete strangers to me.

I dream about people who aren't at all familiar, so yeah I think it's normal.

Indigoviolin, is that really true? I've done research on dream psychology, but I didn't know that. That's so cool!

They are real live people in your dreams, however you have only seen them very briefly like just walking past them in the street. You don't have to know them at all, but your mind will remember them in dream - in hte back of your mind! It's really cool. I've done lots of research on it. This is really brief :)

i pretty much always dream in third person. I think that everybody's mind has a disconnected link. we all share knowlage of eachother, time, and most everything with the exception of things we learn in a conscious state of mind. i will know everything about the person who posted this sub-concously, but rarely do i capture any information when i wake up from a sub-consciouse state. even when i do, it is in a form that is far too diverse from the kind of information the conscious mind is designed to recieve and understand, so often dreams are the result of being in a sub-sub consciouse state, with the attention of the conscious mind and sub conscious both present simultaneously. information is mixed as it is recieved or accessed.

I often dream about people I don't know. Sometimes I dream in 3rd person, and sometimes I dream as if I am somebody else.

Who knows why or how, exactly. I tend to think they are past lives or the result of something I ate.

I'm like you, I guess. Most of the people I dream about I've never seen before. It's like I'm seeing them or meeting them for the first time in my dream. I honestly thought this was normal; I'm kind of interested in what others say too.

Not me, only few of the characters in my dreams aren't present in the real world. I guess it just depends on the person. My dreams are random though.
