Is it normal that i dont want my girlfriend to get hip piercings?

So my girlfriend who I've been with for about a month but known for like 2 years came out of the blue saying that she wanted to get hip piercings. I had to google what it was because this was the first i ever heard of it. She said some friend from school showed her hers and she thought they were cute but to me its a turn off. Am i overreacting?

    Tell her to do microdermal implants instead. She will have better luck than with surface bars.

    In the meantime yes its normal to be turned off (or even on) by piercings but it boils down to two things
    1) its her body
    2) are you really going to break up with her over a piercing?

    It's normal you may not want your girlfriend to get them and you're more than free to vent your feelings. At the end of the day, though, it's her body.

    I think girls with certain piercings are absolutely disgusting. Like a septum bar or ring, or any other nose ring. Lips and tongue and belly button and nipples are fine. But once you go on the face and other weird places and eyebrows and shit, it's just gross. How is something hanging out of your nose, sexy?

    God, I love hip piercings...especially on men. Maybe if she wants cool piercings, suggest collarbones instead. They are even more beautiful.

    i just looked at pictures.. meh nothing worse than belly piercing.

    i see nothing wrong with getting them.

    i don't see where you can tell her "no" especially since you've only been "together" for a month.

    I had to google them too and I personally think they look ridiculous and not worth the effort. I've had a few piercings over the years but I eventually took them all out because I was tired of feeling like a pin-cushion and they were annoying me.

    The best you can do and really all you can do is ask her to seriously consider every aspect of getting this piercing.
