Is it normal that i dont talk to my father? what should i do?

My parents are divorced because my father were always calling bad names to my mom and once he hit her. And he wants almost 90% of the money of the house . Now I stopped to talk with him and I said him the reasons. Now I will probably not receive money from him wich make life more dificult and I have a brother too. What would you do in my situation?
