Normal. But your interpretation of asshole is subjective. You may turn out to be the asshole.

    Well i
Feel it's alright to dish out your own personal brand of justice but in doing so you must except the right of others to attempt to retaliate against you

It's normal not to care much about what happens to people you think are bad.
However ... there's a difference between understanding what you feel and justifying it. Compassion for "bad people" doesen't come naturally, but it is learnable. The first step is to know yourself. To know your own flaws. It's important that you learn to forgive others, because otherwise you can't forgive yourself. If you can't do that have to justify every bad decision you've made. You become judgemental and bitter and before you know it you've become an asshole yourself.

Oh wow, I went kinda dark there didn't I ...

Who deserves courtesy or whatever is subjective (i.e. some criminals are better people than some CEO's), but in general, there's nothing wrong, IMO, for not feeling bad about bad things happening to assholes. Incidentally, I never feel like any one else is to blame when I have a problem, personal responsibility is sometimes difficult, but that's how I live.
