Is it normal that i dont care about others?

Im an 18 year old guy. I do care about my (close) friends and family but i really couldnt care less if an acquaintance or someone i speak to regularly died or something. This happened, and I feel like im not normal because I missed the funeral and everything because I really just did not care. is anyone else like this?

Unfortunately, it's technically normal (based on the normality of society). We're pretty much desensitized to people dying because of news and movies; we see it all the time. Of course, there's been death all over the place ever since we evolved/were beamed down from a UFO, whatever we did to arrive on this earth.

If a stranger or a person you've only met with a couple times passes away, since you don't have an emotional attachment to them, you might not feel anything towards them. Of course, feeling no sympathy for others is normal only to an extent.

I hope you don't expect people to care about you.

Then again, there are most likely people who do care about you. Additionally, you're powerless over whether or not and how much or little others care about you. Not that the rest of us aren't powerless over all of that as well, but I digress.
