Is it normal that i dont care about anything?

I'm a 21 year old dude if it matters and it seems like nothing impresses me. I saw a lady holding a knife up to a guys throat when I was walking down the street and I just walked by them and didn't give a fuck. I feel like if I got a life threatening disease today and knew that I was going to die then I wouldn't care. If I see someone on drugs I feel like its no big deal at all. I saw a guy in a parking lot a few months ago and he was snorting cocaine and I just didn't care. Is this normal? I just don't feel the need to judge anyone or anything. I'm not depressed at all.

it's pretty normal for someone who grew up constantly witnessing or experiencing fucked up shit to become apathetic. Part of the brain controlling empathy literally changes, specially those genetically predisposed.

I'm pretty apathetic myself. Whenever a tragedy happens and everyone is all "my thoughts and prayers to the victims in [insert country or accident here]" I just don't care. The other day my boyfriend and I were driving by an ambulance that was attending to an obviously dead guy, I didn't care, but my boyfriend was shaken up by it. I honestly wish I could care about strangers more.

Not judging is different from not caring.

I mind my own business but not caring isn't good for you.

What would caring entail in that case? Saying "poor man" and keep walking?

For the cocaine addict? Caring is feeling bad but allowing them to hit their bottom. That's the only way alcoholics and addicts are able to recover.

For the man with a knife to the throat, calling the cops.

I totally agree with you but wouldn't calling the cops be not "minding your own business"?

In a life threatening situation minding my own business isn't a priority. I will take any fallout to save a life. I wouldn't get involved personally, and so I would mind my own business by not being judgemental to either party, but letting the cops figure it out.
